2 years ago I moved to New York City for a fresh start. It was quite possibly the best decision I've ever made, and I couldn't love it here more if I tried. I'm lucky enough to immerse myself in two different worlds: being a wedding photographer & a learning specialist for middle and high school students. Within each world, I get to do what I love most - connecting with humans and loving them for who they are, as they are.
I'm a big softy at heart, always looking for moments of love in the world around me. You can find me tearing up at love stories in the movies, while listening to one of my many love song playlists, or when I see an old couple holding hands walking on the sidewalk. There is a 100% chance that I will have to fight my tears back during many moments of your day. I believe my ability to always look for love around me helps me capture the moments of true feeling, no matter how big or small they may appear.
I started photography about 5 years ago when I received a camera for my birthday. At first, I started taking pictures of anything and everything. I just wanted to remember life as it was around me in the moment.
Shortly after I received the camera, I offered shoots to family and friends (and really anyone who would get in front of my camera) so I could try out new ideas and learn what it meant to photograph people. I quickly fell in love with documenting human connection and each individual love story.
A couple of years later my dad gifted me his Pentax K1000, my first film camera. That was really when the love of documentation fell into full force. Documenting love on film has really deepened my passion and understanding of photography. While I've come to own a few more film cameras since that day, my dad's Pentax remains my favorite of all time.
These photos below are from one of my favorite engagement sessions, captured fully in 35mm film on my dad's Pentax.
I move through our time with intention. From the minute we meet on our initial call, to the minute I walk away from your wedding (and even beyond that) I want you to feel seen and heard by me. I'll get to know you, your vision, and what makes your love unique.
I pay attention to the little in between moments that can matter most. I make sure your galleries reflect the feeling of the day in their most authentic forms. Giving you photos you can feel is always my goal.
I won't put you in stiff poses like you're taking a prom photo in the 80s. Our time together will be full of guidance and direction.
During our time together, I will guide you into different things and let you two do what you do best - love each other. I'm not here to tell you exactly where to put. your right hand or to turn your head 40 degrees to the right. I want you both to interact with each other as naturally as you would if I weren't there. This is how we will work together to capture the most authentic and candid moments of your story. All you two need to do is love each other, I'll take care of the rest.
